Applications are currently open for steps engineering your future (eyf), a week long, hands on programme designed to give transition year students a meaningful, practical insight into engineering at third level and as a career.

Stepsengineeringyourfuture Engineers Ireland Last week, 30 transition year students from 22 secondary schools across limerick, clare, tipperary, and galway visited the faculty of science and engineering at the university of limerick to take part in the steps engineering your future programme (steps eyf). This initiative focuses on hands on challenges across all engineering disciplines and highlights different routes to engineering, including higher educational institutes, engineering companies and apprenticeships. This is entirely free and open to all students aged 13 and over on the island of ireland. this online work experience will focus on various disciplines of engineering and features interviews with irish engineers who speak about their careers and how they got interested in engineering. If you’re a student considering your future after secondary school you can get helpful tips on how to choose the right engineering path for you, watch interesting and informative interviews.

Engineers ireland has launched a free virtual work experience programme to give all transition year students access to engineering, regardless of location or industry connections. the new online version of the steps engineering your future initiative removes barriers faced by students in rural areas or schools with limited placement options.
