As the need for special education advocates grows, the st. mary’s university school of law announces a new master of jurisprudence (m.jur.) degree concentration in special education advocacy, the first m.jur. in the country focused on special education advocacy. This two and a half day special education advocacy training program held at the st. mary’s university school of law in san antonio, texas, will begin with a reception on wednesday evening, july 22, 2026, and conclude on saturday afternoon, july 25, 2026. St Mary S Advocacy This two and a half day special education advocacy training program held at the st. mary’s university school of law in san antonio, texas, will begin with a reception on wednesday evening, july 22, 2026, and conclude on saturday afternoon, july 25, 2026. Our master of legal studies with a concentration in special education advocacy is designed to prepare students for careers in special education teaching, advocacy and related fields. This degree can aid school personnel, service providers and those advocating on behalf of students with disabilities and their families in gathering a greater understanding of the law in this area. The summit will take place at st. mary’s university school of law in san antonio, tx from july 23rd to july 26th, 2025 and will feature approximately thirteen sessions covering applicable laws, ethics, best practices in advocacy, strategies for working with parents and schools and dispute resolution procedures. The 2.5 day special education advocacy training program includes sessions on applicable laws, ethics, best practices, dispute resolution and strategies for working with parents and schools. After a brief interlude in which the clinic was not offered, the special education advocacy clinic returned in summer 2023, and will again include william & mary law students beginning with the fall 2023 semester.
