Lord somers camp (lsc) is a fully catered and accredited campsite, located approximately 60 minutes south east of melbourne, on the mornington peninsula in victoria. our seven acre site on the coastline hosts up to 260 guests in fully enclosed accommodation with fantastic indoor and outdoor facilities.
Somers Camp Home Page Founded in anglesea, victoria, in 1929 by the 6th baron somers, the then governor of victoria, the camp has been running continuously since 1929, excluding the second world war years of 1941 1946 [1] when the site was occupied by the raaf. From botanical drawing out in the beautiful school grounds to sand sculpting at the magnificent sand beach art at somers incorporates nature and environment. there's a wide range of activities for you to participate in and you can take your artwork home. Several of our grade 5 and 6 students have the opportunity to attend somers camp on the mornington peninsula with students from other schools. camp dates are tuesday 18 to wednesday 26 february 2025. Somers school camp organises its camp into regional groups in an 2 year rotation.

Somers camp is a mornington peninsula winter children's camp, offering kids in grades 3–year 11 to experience a week filled with laughter, adventure and connection, diving into 5 days of non stop fun, friendship, and unforgettable memories. The site was reacquired to act as a migrant camp for immigrants from europe after world war ii. the site was purchased by the victorian education department and altered by the public works department to the requirements of a school camp and opened in september 1959.
