Siskel Ebert Dune 1984
Dune Movie Review Film Summary 1984 Roger Ebert Film review. It might be kind of fun. it took “dune” about nine minutes to completely strip me of my anticipation. this movie is a real mess, an incomprehensible, ugly, unstructured, pointless excursion into the murkier realms of one of the most confusing screenplays of all time.

Following a contract dispute with tribune media in 1986, siskel and ebert signed with buena vista television, creating siskel & ebert & the movies (later renamed siskel & ebert, and renamed again several times after siskel's death). We agree that the biggest disappointment of the year is dune with a huge budget, a talented young director and a script based on a highly regarded science fiction novel. It’s one of the key reasons gene siskel and robert ebert famously declared dune to be among the worst movies of 1984, with siskel calling it an “unintelligible gross out.”. That's a good question, and may be the crux of the issue dune is a very subtle and complex storyline set in a peculiar context. it's hard to do justice to the transcendent nature of the story arc without either dumbing it down or losing 90% of the audience altogether. Back in 1984 siskel & ebert reviewed david lynch's dune and they didn't like it much! the dune review around starts 1 minute and 10 seconds in.
