This paper reviews identity work, identity negotiation and intersectionality to propose an interdisciplinary lens that offers new insights and suggestions for future research that will advance the diversity management literature. The experience of being a migrant worker subject to the full force of the ‘temporality precarity nexus’ (withers and piper 2021) has propelled a new understanding of what a rights based approach to migration entails, largely driven by activists in the global south.
