Si Redefinition Codata Blog A unique event in the history of science is scheduled for friday 16th november when a meeting in versailles, france, will vote whether to re define the international system of units (si) based on exact values of the fundamental constants. Sufficient progress has been achieved towards meeting the recommendations for redefining the si in terms of exact values of fundamental constants. the recommended exact numerical values of h, e, k, and na to establish the revised si based on fundamental constants are given.

But how and who will chose those exact values? i will outline the history and work of the codata task group on fundamental constants, the committee that actually derives those values. A unique event in the history of science is scheduled for friday 16th november when a meeting in versailles, france, will vote whether to re define the international system of units (si) based on exact values of the fundamental constants. Countries around the world are recognizing the value of involving communities within the official statistical process and learning approaches to address concerns on data quality, standards, and ethics in this new paradigm.

September And October 2022 Publications In The Data Science Journal A unique event in the history of science is scheduled for friday 16th november when a meeting in versailles, france, will vote whether to re define the international system of units (si) based on exact values of the fundamental constants. Countries around the world are recognizing the value of involving communities within the official statistical process and learning approaches to address concerns on data quality, standards, and ethics in this new paradigm. In november 2018 representatives from over 58 countries will meet to approve a major revision to our international measurement system, the si. this redefinition will be the most sweeping change in the last 140 years and remove the last defining artifact from the si. With the 2019 redefinition, the si is constructed around seven defining constants, allowing all units to be constructed directly from these constants. the designation of base units is retained but is no longer essential to define the si units. This update of values for over 300 constants is the first since a major redefinition of the international system of units (si), where exact numerical values for the planck constant h, elementary charge e, boltzmann constant k, and avogadro constant na were set. Sufficient progress towards redefining the international system of units (si) in terms of exact values of fundamental constants has been achieved.
