Should I Pull The Trigger The Muzzleloading Forum Last year i worked clear up to january, had a 3 week lay off and back to work. you have to 'pull the trigger' to shot it. that will work. the rifle looks good in the photos and i'd like to see it in person; i'm guessing you already have examined it. You get sensitive to creep and small personalities in the trigger pull. i dont lend my guns out and let very few shoot them without first dry firing a couple times to understand what they are shooting.

Should I Pull The Trigger The Muzzleloading Forum I had one single trigger muzzleloader with too short a pivot position causing a muzzleloader to fire from the half cock position if pulled hard. after that i always check any single trigger muzzleloader by squeezing the trigger at half cock to make sure it won't smear through the half cock notch. There are numerous contributing factors that could be goin on with him from his grip, trigger pull, cheek weld, his breathing, to having the gun canted. your advice of consistency & practice were good advice – as long as he is capable of learning what he is doing wrong & correcting it. Disconnect the movement of trigger fingertip from any other hand movement, avoid secondary squeeze with your lower three fingers. pull and or press the trigger straight backwards in line with the bore, mentally aim your fingertip movement toward your shoulder. I would like to start a discussion on proper trigger pull and shooting technique. we can bandy words around like finger tip, pad, power crease, proper anticipation, breathing, follow through and maintaining site picture.

I know there are some single triggers that don't have much material supporting the trigger pin but if you can drill a new hole 3 32" to 1 8" closer to the sear arm without the hole breaking out of the material around it, that would do wonders for decreasing the force needed to pull the trigger. All of my rifles with sets have nice main trigger pull without the set. since most all of my hunting requires gloves, i don't like a pull measured in ounces when i can't feel the trigger well.
