D D Unearthed Arcana Forgotten Realms Subclasses Up to your dm, a thrown shadow blade dissipates at the end of the turn. thereafter, while the spell persists, you can use a bonus action to cause the sword to reappear in your hand. also not all light weapons have the nick mastery property, shortsword have vex for example. yeah, as long as the dm didnt rule it , can't make this work. Can your bladesinger use two weapon fighting to attack with a shadowblade twice and make a booming blade or greenflame blade attack with another weapon? i discuss this interaction in today's.

D D 5e Bladesinger Wizard Guide Sage Gamers A big thing some people can tend to forget playing a melee bladesinger is you're still a wizard! that being said, i almost always do bladesong round 1, even when focusing on shadowblade. round 1 is typically a blaster spell for tempo (fireball, shatter, etc.) or a ranged cantrip like mind spike. You weave together threads of shadow to create a sword of solidified gloom in your hand. this magic sword lasts until the spell ends. it counts as a simple melee weapon with which you are proficient. it deals 2d8 psychic damage on a hit and has the finesse, light, and thrown properties (range 20 60). I'd heard before that bladesinger was fun to play, but didn't really think much of it, mostly just thought of it as "wizard with pokey stick". i took the mandatory melee spells, like green flame blade, bombing blade, shield, absorb elements, and of course, shadow blade. I always see people going on and on about having amazing ac in their bladesinger. well good luck when the dm brings out con saving throws for devastating effects that neuters you because your con is trash and you haven't taken resilient constitution.

Anyway, it's worth noting that you can make one attack with the shadowblade, booming blade with another light weapon, then bonus action attack with shadowblade. Shadow blade is likely to be outclassed at its base level if you have a magic weapon. for the capstone, spell mastery, counterspell is the easy choice to make. hypnotic pattern, fireball, haste, and dispel magic are also decent choices. Nope. the shadowblade is valid for the two weapon fighting bonus attack. as you attacked with a different light weapon (the shortsword) as part of the attack action. there's a more in depth explanation in this thread already. Starting at 2nd level, you can invoke an elven magic called the bladesong, provided that you aren't wearing medium or heavy armor or using a shield. it graces you with supernatural speed, agility, and focus. you can use a bonus action to start the bladesong, which lasts for 1 minute.
