Session 2 2018 Community Resilience Data Workshop Nist Data needs for resilience planning and decision making was a workshop coordinated by the national institute of standards and technology (nist) and the center for risk based community resilience planning in october 2018 for adaptation, resilience, and planning practitioners. The national institute of standards and technology (nist) funded the multi university five year center of excellence for risk based community resilience planning (coe) to develop the measurement science to support community resilience assessment. Seeking communities to help hud understand impact of community resilience planning and can be used as examples for others around the country nist wants to improve its existing community resilience guidance and tools by learning from experience with communities. The work products from the center will provide a quantitative and science based approach to community resilience assessment and, for the first time, will support a business case for enhancing disaster resilience at the community level.
