Science Stack Exchanges Helping Other Science Stack Exchanges
Science Stack Exchanges Helping Other Science Stack Exchanges Let's give back to the younger science communities, now that we here at engineering have graduated out of the commitment stage, and let's help some of the other sites in beta, as they are doing for us. below is the post from the physics meta (now on several others too). The programming focused stack overflow is perhaps the best known of these sites, however there are a number of other q&a sites on the platform including topics from sciences and the humanities.
Science Stack Exchanges Helping Other Science Stack Exchanges Stack exchange allows users to donate some of their reputation to help questions receive answers or better answers, as well as to incentivize users to answer. this is called a 'bounty' and can be applied on questions 48 hours after being asked, lasting for 7 days plus a grace period of 24 hours. In this paper, we measure the success of an intervention used by stack exchange question answering communities to create a more welcoming environment for newcomers. We analyze the early evolution of social networks in four pairs of active and closed stack exchange communities on topics of physics, astronomy, economics, and literature and use a dynamical reputation model to quantify the evolution of social trust in them. Stack exchange is a question and answer service to solve solutions to any complex problem thanks to other data scientists, researchers, or engineers.

Stack exchange is a question and answer service to solve solutions to any complex problem thanks to other data scientists, researchers, or engineers. Due to the prominence of stack exchange profiles in web search results and the stack overflow careers job board, users may have reason to game the system. along with posting questions and answers, users can add comments to them and edit text written by others. Generalized reciprocity, the tendency to help others after being helped oneself (nowak & roch,2007;baker & bulkley,2014), is among the mechanisms proposed to sustain cooperation on platforms like stack overflow and , where direct exchange between the same two indi viduals is rare. Students and junior researchers may forge relationships through study abroad and exchange programs. and, other times, researchers who share common goals and yet are separated by political borders and national objectives can find a common ground through collaboration. As a dynamic nexus for an array of scientific inquiries and exchanges, science forums stimulates a lively exploration of numerous scientific domains. thereby, promoting intellectual curiosity and multi disciplinary learning.
