Rolling Fill In 16th Note Triplets Drumdex In this quick lesson, i introduce a variation in 16th note triplets of the drum fill idea shared in my previous article a fill for every season #2. just changing the subdivision, keeping the same sticking, we open up the fill to new applications. From classic single strokes, to using rudiments and classic stickings, incorporating your kick with linear phrases and using rests to give us more rhythmic options, this course will have you covered when it comes to phrasing triplets around the kit!. You’ll often hear drummers playing something like this in straight 16th notes, but the trick here is to play 16th note triplets. you’ll play a single note on the snare drum and rack tom, followed by three notes on the floor tom, followed by a kick drum. Each of the triplet patterns below use alternating sticking and begin with the right stick (left stick if you're using a left handed setup). going down the toms, tonally, allows the right stick to lead the transitions. however, when you're going back up the toms, the sticks can get crossed.

In this lesson you'll learn a great sounding, easy to play triplet fill. you'll learn the basic pattern, plus some variations around the set. you'll also learn how to play the pattern as a fill into a beat. to get started, practice slowly playing three even notes between the low tom, hi tom and bass drum. basic pattern. r l!! r l r l r l. In this lesson, we’re going to take the nine stroke pattern we’ve spent some time with, and realize it as a drum fill as 16th note triplets. this means that for every quarter note metronome click, we’re going to make 6 hits. 16th note triplet linear patterns must know fill! if you're already enrolled, you'll need to login.
