Rising sea levels and rapid socio economic development worsen these vulnerabilities, necessitating a comprehensive understanding of coastal flooding dynamics across the five deltas. This article examines the physical and social implications of rising seas coastal flooding, erosion, land subsidence, and saltwater intrusion and discusses the new strategies cities are embracing to become more resilient. The study used state of the art flood inundation models, extreme sea level estimates, digital elevation data, remote sensing data on flood protection levels, and gridded exposure datasets.
