Initially, i thought i was having riser cable problems. the system was running with insane amounts of lag until it would inevitably crash. i ordered a cooler master riser off amazon just to be sure that was the issue, and the cooler master riser worked perfectly fine.
Riser Cable Issues R Formd Could it be a faulty riser or just a bad quality one? i’m new to the whole sff case building and this is my first build with a riser cable, so apologies if i’ve misunderstood something. I'm looking around to build a sffpc with formdd t1, packing a 3090 fe, and i just noticed that the formd t1 comes with a pcie riser already. i can't seem to find out what's its length, but i've not seen anyone using it on their builds (they usually use a linkup, 21cm). The riser that comes with the t1 is 18.5cm dual reverse. 18cm is too short. 20cm single reverse connector on the gpu side is the optimal cable to use. I was plagued by riser issue. switching to a 4.0 riser resolved the issue for me. typically you would not be able to see the bios if it is a riser issue as nothing will appear on screen at any point in the boot bios selection process.
