Restorative justice brings those harmed by crime or conflict and those responsible for the harm into communication, enabling everyone affected by a particular incident to play a part in repairing the harm and finding a positive way forward. this is part of a wider field called restorative practice.

This is reflected in our practice guidance for practitioners, service providers, restorative organisations and trainers which has been developed to promote the delivery of high quality restorative services to a nationally agreed standard. As part of the 2015 standards and guidance review, the rjc sought views from members on a proposed new version of the rjc principles of restorative processes. the updated 2015 version of the principles is available below. a summary of members' responses and the revisions made is available here. The rjc monitor and recognise good practice by rj service providers and practitioners. originally known as the restorative service quality mark (rsqm), services were recognised for meeting standards in high quality restorative practice. We created this toolkit out of deep appreciation for the diversity and complexity of restorative justice practices and the ways it is supported locally, regionally, and nationally. practicing restorative justice is both transformative and complex.
