Responding To Covid 19 A Science Based Approach
The Science Of Covid 19 Science At Cal The series is exploring the scientific basis for guidance issued by government, health and public health organizations, and industry, as well as answering questions that are top of mind for its audiences. In response, researchers have adopted open science methods to begin to combat this disease via global collaborative efforts. we summarise here some of those initiatives, and have created an updateable list to which others may be added.
Covid 19 Response Geoinformation And Big Data Research Laboratory This paper explores environmental and public health evidence based practices toward responding to covid 19. Covid 19 demonstrated a global catastrophe that touched everybody, including the scientific community. as we respond and recover rapidly from this pandemic, there is an opportunity to guarantee that the fabric of our society includes sustainability, fairness, and care. The rapid pace of the covid 19 pandemic precluded traditional approaches to evaluating clinical research and guidelines. we highlight notable successes and pitfalls of clinicians’ new approaches to managing evidence amidst an unprecedented crisis. The webinar series provides trustworthy scientific analysis of the latest covid 19 developments for the benefit of policymakers, public health and health care officials, and the general public.
The Science Of Covid 19 Research Communities By Springer Nature The rapid pace of the covid 19 pandemic precluded traditional approaches to evaluating clinical research and guidelines. we highlight notable successes and pitfalls of clinicians’ new approaches to managing evidence amidst an unprecedented crisis. The webinar series provides trustworthy scientific analysis of the latest covid 19 developments for the benefit of policymakers, public health and health care officials, and the general public. Written by a diverse group of exemplary scientists, the thirteen chapters in this volume provide unique, comprehensive, and science based approaches to respond to macro structural, human process, and micro issues affecting public health threats. As a health care issue, the covid 19 pandemic resulted in unprecedented impacts on all domains of life – economy, entertainment, transport, education etc. additionally, it highlighted another critical domain in the systems thinking mindset – the domain of ‘unintended consequences’. In responding to the covid 19 epidemic, policymakers should aim to bring about protective structural system changes so that the readiness of society to prevent emerging infectious disease outbreaks is independent of the current perceived number of cases. This is what we call a principled approach. the pragmatist approach offers an alternative: an experimental, trial and error strategy based on quick feedback. in this paper, we consider both approaches in light of the covid 19 experience in four european countries.
