Research Smart Living Lab The dallas innovation alliance (dia) created and implemented its phase i smart cities living lab in the west end of downtown dallas, as part of the burgeoning dallas innovation district. the living lab was the fastest to market smart cities initiative in the country. Research Smart Living Lab This research focuses on developing and executing a methodology for an urban living lab vocation identification for a new water and energy self sufficient university building. The smart cities living lab pilot project, launched in march 2017, was located in dallas’ west end historic district and covered a four block corridor in downtown. this pilot, initiated by the dallas innovation alliance (dia), originally comprised of nine integrated smart city projects. The primary objective of this research was to identify the needs and perceptions of older adults regarding smart home services and associated sensors and evaluate the indoor environment conditions of older adults through a living lab.
