2 Design Science Research Methodology Process Model Download This chapter proposes a method framework for design science research that can support researchers in producing relevant as well as rigorous research. five key activities are identified: problem explication, requirements definition, design and development, demonstration, and evaluation. Unfortunately, an inexperienced researcher might find design science research a daunting task at first, due to dif ferent methodologies or approaches that exist. as such, this paper highlighted a subtle difference between three of the more prominent approaches to design science research.

Design science research (dsr) is a research paradigm focusing on the development and validation of prescriptive knowledge in information science. This document presents a design science research methodology (dsrm) for conducting design science research in information systems. the dsrm incorporates principles, practices, and procedures required for design science research based on prior literature. Explore the systematic, artifact focused research paradigm of dsr that guides the design, development, and evaluation of innovative solutions.

Explore the systematic, artifact focused research paradigm of dsr that guides the design, development, and evaluation of innovative solutions. To address these problems we propose an artefact centric creation and evaluation methodology for design science research. this methodology begins with observation which is followed by theory building which in turn is followed by an interwoven artefact creation and artefact evaluation process. The design science research methodology (dsrm) entails an iterative process that includes six essential steps: identifying and motivating a problem, defining and exploring relevant concepts, and generating prescriptive knowledge applicable to various artifacts like software or models. In this paper we give an account of six dsr methodologies and we compare them using a design science research methodology comparison framework that we adapted from an existing information systems development methodology comparison framework. Design science research (dsr) emphasizes two fundamental aspects in its approach: rigor and relevance. specifically, this means anchoring design knowledge and the approach models in well founded theories and scientifically recognized methodologies (a. r. hevner, 2021).
