Research Cholab Ucsf Engineering new tools for mechanistic and therapeutic discovery. using synthetic molecular biology, we are engineering creative new ways to dissect cell interactions in cancer immunity, and to construct custom precision therapeutic modules. We are excited about understanding the biological mechanisms underlying tumor progression and resistance to therapy, and discovering new vulnerabilities to attack cancer. check out our current projects.

Research Cholab Ucsf In the cho lab, we are focused on understanding the rules of engagement between cancer and the immune system. we aim to leverage fundamental, mechanistic discoveries to advance the treatment of cancer patients. Charlotte’s research interests include adaptive immune cell signaling, tumor immunoediting, and gene editing for therapeutic applications. she is particularly excited to deepen her understanding of t cell signaling dynamics and their role in shaping immune responses to tumors. We work collaboratively with basic scientists, radiologists, chemists, computational biologists, pathologists, urologic surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists and medical oncologists at the ucsf. we are excited to share our research with you!. Il 6 underlies microenvironment immunosuppression and resistance to therapy in glioblastoma. 6 2024: we are awarded an opportunity grant from the parker institute for cancer immunotherapy together with spitzer and roybal labs! 10 2023: we are awarded a clinician scientist development award from the american cancer society!. Colabs is comprised of a set of five teams that work together closely with one another and with collaborators at ucsf and beyond to apply cutting edge approaches to biomedical research. In the cho lab, we are focused on understanding and engineering the rules of engagement between cancer and the immune system. we aim to creatively leverage these mechanistic discoveries to devise novel treatment strategies for cancer patients. Its mission is to promote research and improve health by providing high quality service to investigators; fostering new research initiatives; and promoting translational discoveries into public benefit.
