To improve communication between reindeer herders and other land users, we developed and implemented a system to produce reindeer husbandry plans together with sami reindeer herding communities. Through the platform, local municipalities and policymakers can gain insights into the consequences of forest transformation and the challenges herders face in their daily practices as a result of land use policies and climate change. This research was conceived in response to a participatory mapping program, the reindeer husbandry plan (rhp), led by the swedish forest agency. the rhp is based on a digital tool compiling and mapping habitat use by reindeer herding communities.
