One of the most extensively discussed methods is reciprocal teaching (rt). however, there are few studies that thoroughly examine the theory and effect of rt on students.

Reciprocal teaching is a straightforward, research backed learning strategy that enhances students’ reading comprehension through brief, student led group discussions. Researchers show that rt works well for teaching physics, algebra, reading comprehension, and other disciplines to students of all skill levels, including those who perform poorly academically. Hence, this review identified, evaluated, and synthesized relevant literature in search of the effectiveness of reciprocal teaching and the features associated with improved reading comprehension outcomes. Through its structured approach of predicting, questioning, clarifying, and summarizing, students develop a deeper comprehension of the material being studied. the method provides a scaffolded learning experience, gradually releasing responsibility from the teacher to the students.
