So i’d say course of fate have done it again—they’ve kick started my year with an impressive showing of progressive metal that i expect to come back to often as the year goes on. behind the eclipse is a well written, cathartic, and empowering album that is fun to listen to. Imagine waiting nearly two decades for a band’s debut album, only to realize they’ve quietly dropped three more since 2020—and you’ve missed one. that’s the story of course of fate, a norwegian progressive metal act that’s been flying under the radar but deserves your attention.

However, amidst this decline, unleash the archers stands as one of the few power prog metal bands that still has something fresh to offer. with epic albums like apex or abyss, it keeps the flame alive.
