Tracking Net Zero Progress What is net zero? the world has a goal to reach net zero emissions. our platform, informed by leading climate researchers and hosted by the university of oxford, brings together principles and policies, practical tools, and progress tracking to help businesses and policymakers achieve that goal. Explore in which countries the renewables rollout is gathering speed, and which countries are not delivering on their commitments. we will be tracking governments as they submit their 2035 targets, and calling out those who are not planning to do so. the maps displayed are for reference only.

Tracking Net Zero Progress We analyse all countries and territories, every region in the 25 largest emitting countries and all cities with 500,000 inhabitants. This interactive tracker aims to measure the progress and preparedness of ten key sectors on the path to achieving global net zero emissions by 2050. The net zero tracker is the world’s only open source independent review of the quantity and quality of net zero targets across countries, regions, cities and companies. It is one of the four components of the international programme for action on climate, set up to help countries pursue progress towards net zero greenhouse gas emissions and a more resilient economy by 2050.

Progress Tracking Net Zero Climate The net zero tracker is the world’s only open source independent review of the quantity and quality of net zero targets across countries, regions, cities and companies. It is one of the four components of the international programme for action on climate, set up to help countries pursue progress towards net zero greenhouse gas emissions and a more resilient economy by 2050. Cpi’s net zero finance tracker (nzft) provides the only independent, standardized assessment of over 1,500 private fis from 67 countries’ progress on climate targets, implementation, and impact. Coalitions of countries, businesses, governments and others are increasingly pledging to ramp up renewables, halt forest loss, electrify transport and more. but are they actually turning pledges into progress?. Ecno uses an indicator based framework to track real world progress across traditional economic sectors and cross cutting areas. together, these form the ‘building blocks’ of a climate neutral future. ecno releases its progress report annually. Nearly one quarter (24%) of listed companies have set a decarbonization target that aims to reduce their financially relevant ghg emissions to net zero by 2050 in line with a science based pathway, as of sept. 30, 2024, an increase of two percentage points from a year earlier.
