Programmes African Futures Institute Over the past three years, we’ve offered a wide range of programmes, from monthly talks and seminars in accra, research projects and interviews, to workshops in dakar, london, venice and dublin. Established by prof lesley lokko obe, who is also curator of the venice architecture biennale 2023, the afi positions africa as a laboratory of the future, where new forms of urbanism are co created.
Programmes African Futures Institute Nomadic african studio (nas) is the flagship programme of the african futures institute (afi), a pan african, experimental platform dedicated to rethinking education, culture, and practice from the african continent outward. From research to critical workshops, publications to exhibition design, in the first four years of our existence, we’ve undertaken a wide range of projects that are always born out of conversations, ideas, invitations and opportunities.
