Each year we invite our newly appointed professors to take part in this prestigious lecture series and we welcome members of the public, our students and staff, alumni and invited guests to come along to discover our internationally significant research, to exchange ideas and be inspired.
Professorial Inaugural Lecture By Professor Boppana Chowdary The Maynooth university inaugural professorial lectures are a celebration of academic excellence and a platform for professors to share their insights with the broader university community. In this inaugural lecture, professor sarah boulton took us on a voyage through landscapes shaped by geohazards – from the active faults and earthquakes of the mediterranean to landslides in the nepal himalayas, and finally to tsunamis in japan. The current series of inaugural professorial lectures was established in 1996 with the broad aim of promoting and celebrating the academic reputation of professorial staff. Each year the university hosts a series of inaugural lectures given by professors or chairs newly appointed by the university.
