Instructor Chieftain Training Rya practical courses take place from our powerboat centre in bitterne park, southampton. we offer courses in three distinct practical disciplines (powerboat, motor cruising and personal watercraft pwc). Rya practical instructor training courses for powerboat, motor cruising and pwc (personal watercraft), in southampton or on your super yacht. The rya assistant instructor (ai) pathway at chieftain training is designed for sailors who want to take their first formal step into instructing, working with and supporting qualified instructors in a real training environment. From liferafts and lifejackets to hypothermia, helicopter rescue, and real world survival decision making, it’s practical, physical, and taken seriously by professional mariners and yacht crew alike. we run this course almost every week, and the last time we cancelled a date was during covid.
