Haven't played many point & click games, maybe just Myst and NORCO fully qualify. But I started Kathy Rain: Directors Cut the other night and so far I'm loving it. Can't wait to dig through all the recs in this thread. A quirky point and click adventure game with RPG elements set in a Far-East inspired world! I think going with Kathy Rain 1 Directors Cut is an ideal option. It's a really great game and representation of a point and click adventure, is pretty cheap to get since it's been out for a while and has been in a few bundles I think, and has a slight bit of the spooky side of things, even if the game generally isn't that. Want some spooky comedy? Darkside Detective 1 and 2 are great.

Mindlock is a Point'n'Click Adventure, that's already out, but the demo is still available. Another game with nice handdrawn artstyle and pretty good german voice acting.
