The pradhan mantri awas yojana – urban (pmay u 2.0) is a government housing scheme launched to provide affordable and all weather pucca houses to eligible urban families across india. under this scheme, financial assistance and interest subsidy are provided to help beneficiaries construct, purchase, or rent a house as per their needs. with a focus on “housing for all”, the scheme ensures. All houses under pmay (u) have basic amenities like toilet, water supply, electricity and kitchen. the mission promotes women empowerment by providing the ownership of houses in name of female member or in joint name.
