Permanent Layout Progress Page 2 Model Train Forum My plan is to use such resistor for starting the train from the station stops. at normal throttle the startup is ungainly the loco "wiggling and heaving" to get the consist moving again. This arrangement works wonders at breaking up the obvious loop into separate scenes, and creating the illusion that the train is going from one place to another, rather than just chasing its tail around & around.

A few weeks ago i received an email from the channel admins suggesting greater participation in the forum so here goes:my journey into model railways started in 1984 aged 5 when my dad gave me and my brother a model railway (probably a glorified train set by the standards displayed on here). Anyone have a storable movable, permanent layout? i’m trying to think of a way to have a layout that i can set on my dining room table and then store in the garage when not in use.
