Following the observations of werlé, mechanical and or pneumatic devices are the primary methods used to control the vortical structures, the corresponding vortex breakdown, or the flow characteristics which can alter the influence of these phenomena on the wing or aircraft in question. This study reveals the separated vortical flow with vortex breakdown and a wave like structure in the flow visualization images. this wave like structure is found to be related to the onset of vortex breakdown over the flying wing configuration.
