The david rubenstein forum at the university of chicago is a space of discourse and intellectual exchange aimed at fostering the engagement of scholars, researchers and dignitaries from around the world.
Gallery David Rubenstein Forum Cvu collects data on two major types of tall structures: 'buildings' and 'telecommunications observation towers.' a 'building' is a structure where at least 50% of the height is occupied by usable floor area. Post installed anchors were not a viable option, due to the risks of jeopardizing post tensioned strands within the concrete. the issue was resolved by utilizing a halfen embedment rail system. The david rubenstein forum is situated on the south side of the midway plaisance, a large grassy ribbon of parkland that hosted the 1893 world’s columbian exposition and that today demarcates the historic north side from the newer south side of campus. The david m. rubenstein forum, which opened in september of 2020, is located on chicago’s midway plaisance, and offers views of downtown chicago, lake michigan, and the university campus.

The david rubenstein forum at the university of chicago is a space of intellectual exchange aimed at fostering the outward engagement of visiting scholars, researchers and dignitaries from around the world. The david rubenstein forum project was the overall winning project, and it also won in the category of walls. a panel of judges comprised of the metal construction association (mca) council chairs and other metal construction and design industry experts determined the winners. The david rubenstein forum at the university of chicago is a new center for intellectual exchange, scholarly collaboration and special events. the 97,000 sf facility consists of a 2 story podium and a 10 story tower of stacked “neighborhoods” with a zinc and glass exterior.
