Birmingham civil rights institute is a comprehensive museum and educational center in birmingham, alabama, that depicts the events and actions of the 1963 birmingham campaign, its children's crusade, and others of the civil rights movement in the 1950s and 1960s. July 2019: students in bcri’s legacy youth leadership program journey on a three day tour of historical sites critical to the african american community between reconstruction and the civil rights era.
