The androtechne collective explores themes of transhumanism, artificial intelligence, bionics, and spirituality in their art. they primarily work with a variety of mediums, incorporating technology and traditional artistic techniques. It encompasses several aspects; the advancement of augmented and virtual reality technology, the possibility of accessing these worlds through wearable tech, and the existence of digital selves to navigate these environments. The feature documentary "our digital selves: my avatar is me!" tells the story of 13 global citizens and their avatars as they transcend their various disabilities through artistic expression and making a home for themselves in the vr metaverse. By discussing techniques of what i term virtual enactment, i explore how our digital selves constitutes paraethnographic film created through a triple collaboration between community members, filmmakers, and ethnographers.
