Working With Resilience Models that explain resilience within a single system are more robust and better studied. By transcending traditional disciplinary boundaries, the paper explores the drivers and potential strategies for enhancing systemic resilience.
Equity Centered Systemic Resilience Work This article explores the strategic application of systematic resilience planning across risk types and presents an integrated application for implementation grounded in risk management and business continuity systems standards. This paper provides a critical analysis and synthesis of insights from the fields of resilience thinking, critical systems thinking, community operational research and development studies; and presents an operational framework for ‘systemic resilience’. By taking a systemic resilience approach, you deal with cause and symptom. rather than just kind of expecting your individuals to be resilient, there’s something helpful about understanding what the leadership climate is at that organisation and to what extent it is helping. There is a need for deeper assessment of the systemic nature of the crisis and especially guidance on creating more resilient systems in the future. in this chapter, there is an effort to expand upon the existing concept of resilience to introduce the concept of “systemic resilience.”.

In this article, we posit that a cross scale perspective is valuable for studies of organizational resilience. existing research in our field primarily focuses on the resilience of organizations, that is, the factors that enhance or detract from an organization’s viability in the face of threat. We outline six functions in a systemic model, drawing primarily on resilience engineering, and disaster response: anticipation, monitoring, response, recovery, learning, and self monitoring. Understanding systemic resilience begins with recognizing that it’s not just about bouncing back from a setback. it’s about the capacity of a whole system → whether that’s a business, a community, or even an ecosystem → to absorb disturbances, adapt to change, and continue to function effectively.
