Our Team Raw Learning Meet the team behind raw learning's house mountain learning cooperative (hmlc) program — dedicated facilitators and organizers who support self directed, inclusive learning for homeschoolers. At raw learning, we bridge the gap for children who struggle to access mainstream education by offering a safe, therapeutic and nature based alternative that focuses on equity, inclusion and joy.
Contact Raw Learning Raw learning is a friendly and welcoming school in the heart of westcliff on sea, and covering the southend on sea area. we are a small community of dedicated, passionate teachers who want to ensure their provision is suited to children with specific learning difficulties and or low self esteem. I am the founder and director of raw learning community cic. my name is mrs rachel king. i created the cic, a specialist provision set in nature to provide the high level of support with our partner organisations in order to meet the need of neurodivergent children suspected or diagnosed in our area of southend, rochford and further afield in. We offer an alternative provision set in a forest for neurodivergent children , suspected or diagnosed, for 49% of their education. we also offer a screening. Raw learning is a non profit organization dedicated to expanding opportunities for self directed education and nature connection in western virginia. we are currently hosting a weekly unschooling co op, monthly field trips, and other homeschooling programs.

What excites you most about working at raw learning? i joined raw learning as i have observed in my previous role where children have struggled within the classroom environment, children who have struggled focussing or are quiet indoors will often flourish in the forest school environment. Raw learning is a forest setting and the activities are focused around forest school philosophy where the children are learning life skills and building their confidence and self esteem.
