Ica builds movements and programming with, by, and for indigenous communities to foster cultural revitalization, community power, and ancestral stewardship of lands and waters.

Applications For Our Climate Leadership Program Cohort 10 Are Now Open Indigenous climate action (ica) is an organisation working to make the climate change conversation more diverse. the platform advocates for indigenous rights, environmental and social justice by upholding indigenous peoples’ inherent right and authority to make decisions about their well being. Indigenous climate action, founded in 2018, is run by and for indigenous peoples. as part of their work promoting indigenous peoples’ rights and knowledge systems to develop climate solutions, they prioritize youth leadership opportunities through workshops, learning opportunities and direct funding. In the face of climate change and its worsening impacts on lives and livelihoods around the world, indigenous peoples are accelerating climate action globally and locally through ancestral knowledge systems and practices, and drawing on an intrinsic relationship with mother earth. Indigenous women and youth are not only custodians of culture and knowledge but leaders in movements for justice, climate action, and peace. policies, funding, and programs must prioritize their safety, participation, and leadership, addressing gendered violence and intergenerational inequities.

Applications For Our Climate Leadership Program Cohort 9 Are Now Open In the face of climate change and its worsening impacts on lives and livelihoods around the world, indigenous peoples are accelerating climate action globally and locally through ancestral knowledge systems and practices, and drawing on an intrinsic relationship with mother earth. Indigenous women and youth are not only custodians of culture and knowledge but leaders in movements for justice, climate action, and peace. policies, funding, and programs must prioritize their safety, participation, and leadership, addressing gendered violence and intergenerational inequities. Indigenous leaders need a real say in climate negotiations, funding decisions, and national adaptation plans. this includes not only elders and traditional leaders, but also women and youth who sustain cultural memory and drive innovation. The project aimed to strengthen the role of indigenous peoples, and afrodescendants in climate policy, climate finance, and investment processes through community driven approaches and collaborative social accountability. This expanded support will facilitate the replication of successful indigenous led climate initiatives, promote cross country learning, and elevate local voices in the global climate dialogue. Woven is a global initiative fighting for climate stability through indigenous solutions. believing the protection of our planet is dependent on the protection and advancement of indigenous rights and sovereignty, woven supports projects on land defense, conservation, and climate campaigns.
