Our Approach Wildlife Conservation Trust
Our Approach Wildlife Conservation Trust Recognising the interconnectedness between people and ecosystems, wct uses a 360° approach to conservation by placing equal emphasis on both forest and wildlife conservation and community development. This strategy identifies five transformations in the collective capabilities of the wildlife trust movement that are essential to achieve our strategic goals. each transformation will require resources, time, leadership, determination and coordination to be realised.
Our Approach Wildlife Conservation Trust Wct uses a 360° approach to conservation by placing equal emphasis on wildlife conservation as well as community development. wct works closely with forest departments across the country to fortify on ground protection by training and equipping frontline forest staff. Explore our community and the core programs driving wcn’s approach—from trusted partners and landscape scale wildlife protection to the next generation of conservationists. With several million people living in and around forests, we cannot separate communities from conservation. recognising this, wct has adopted a 360° approach to conservation by focusing equally on wildlife protection and community development. We take action to minimize threats to wildlife so that species populations are stable or increasing, to ensure that hunting and fishing are sustainable, and to see that conflicts between people and wildlife are resolved.

This has long been our approach and our strength. since 2000, we have been working towards the concept of ‘living landscapes’, taking nature conservation beyond reserve boundaries to create natural networks in areas especially important to wildlife.
