Orchestra Ocean Decade Orchestra combines interdisciplinary expertise on plankton and benthos, and underwater acoustics from six scientific institutions of four european countries. The un general assembly mandated unesco's intergovernmental oceanographic commission (ioc) to coordinate the preparations and implementation of the decade.

Ocean Decade Newsletter Subscribtion Ocean Decade The “ocean decade” is a framework for creating and strengthening connections among communities working to study, conserve and sustainably use the ocean and its resources. It invites governments, philanthropists, ngos, the scientific community, private sector partners and all other ocean actors to engage in the ocean decade and provide the support needed to sustain decade actions and coordination structures. Catalysis and coordination of decade actions including of calls for decade actions, organise and coordinate decade review processes, promote cooperation amongst un and member state partners, communications, monitoring, and resource mobilisation. Three objectives are suggested to fulfill the ocean decade challenges, which represent the highest level of the decade action framework and articulate the most immediate priorities for the decade.
