Octane Render For Cinema 4d 8 Scheme 12 Dobromir Dyankov A series of videos that show how to download, install, and use octane render from refractive software. this video shows how to adjust the render settings in octane render. Once the scene is in good shape, we can focus our efforts on the render settings to pick a kernel, limit rays, implement some helper tools, decide how many passes are needed, and even cheat a little with post to get our final frames out as quickly as possible.

Octane Render Demo Ergosany There are four major rendering kernels in octanerender: direct lighting, path tracing, pmc and info channel. each kernel has a set of parameters for the user to adjust. the kernel settings can be found in the octane settings window (figure 1). figure 1: the kernels tab in the render settings window. Currently, there are four kernel types which are direct light, path tracing, pmc, and photon tracing. as a general rule, the default kernel settings work well as a baseline. however, changing them based on the specific lights, materials and effects used in a scene can help optimize rendering. To enable it go to settings > application, enable the enable experimental node graphs checkbox, press ok and restart octane here you can find a scene with a minimal setup that uses a server instance on the same computer. in order to start the server in a separate instance of octane standalone go to octane server > start. We are now forced to use file > new > octane default setup to have access to octane kernel for rendering. plus, it loads an insane layout that shrinks the viewport and adds separate node windows for every little octane bit and piece, completely dominating your screen.

Octane lesson 01 interface, render kernel settings, environment, universal material, exposure jbdtube 58.1k subscribers like. Octanerender requires a nvidia cuda enabled video card. octanerender runs best on fermi (e.g. gtx 480, gtx 580, gtx 590) and kepler (e.g. gtx 680, gtx 690) gpus, but also supports older cuda enabled gpu models. geforce cards are fast and cost effective, but have less vram than quadro and tesla cards. There are mulitple rendering kernels in octanerender®: each kernel has its own strengths and weaknesses, so deciding the best kernel to use is determined by the types of materials and lighting in the scene, how you want the final image to look, and how fast you want to render the scene. Path tracing can be actually pretty fast if set correctly. it is not completely true to say that it is strictly dependant on your hardware. we'll probably cover optmization and render settings in another free video tutorial soon. dobs.
