Nyrstar's port pirie multi metals processing facility has been in continuous operation for more than 130 years, employing over 800 people and 250 contractors. the site is located in the upper spencer gulf, 230 kilometres north of south australia’s capital city, adelaide. Gpa was awarded the process control system upgrade at nyrstar port pirie smelter as part of the transformation and redevelopment project. gpa was responsible for designing, installing and commissioning a state of the art siemens pcs7 pcs dcs hybrid system.
