Nheri Converging Design Updates Tallwood Design Institute
Nheri Converging Design Updates Tallwood Design Institute The vision of this project is to create a new design paradigm within structural engineering that employs multi objective optimization to maximize functional recovery while integrating additional sustainable building design principles. Envisioned results include building code updates and new building products. other tangible outcomes: successful industry academia partnerships – and a cohort of engineering students who will take lessons about sustainable functional recovery into the future.
Nheri Converging Design Partners Tallwood Design Institute Following final tests for the tallwood project, pei passed the 10 story structure over to the nheri converging design project team, led by oregon state university professor andré barbosa. Shake table testing of a six story mass timber building will begin in december 2023 at the natural hazards engineering research institute (nheri) large high performance outdoor shake table. Researchers are now consolidating the results of the project to provide valuable data that will inform future building codes. the six story nheri converging design project followed the successful 10 story nheri tallwood project, which concluded tests in august of 2023.
