Netzerocities To achieve the mission’s objectives, the horizon 2020 netzerocities project has been designed to help cities overcome the current structural, institutional and cultural barriers they face in order to achieve climate neutrality by 2030. Netzerocities is coordinated by eit climate kic and builds on the expertise of 33 partners, such as universities, think tanks, associations, consultancies, city networks and research organisations from 13 countries. The main goal of netzerocities is to engage local authorities and other stakeholders to deliver over 100 climate neutral and smart cities by 2030. the programme has been designed to help cities overcome current structural, institutional and cultural barriers they face in order to achieve this goal. This netzerocities report presents an overview of regional and national support structures that had been set up in the 27 eu member states and eight associated countries (by summer 2023) to support cities in the implementation of the eu mission on 100 climate neutral and smart cities by 2030.
