Natural Hazards Research Group
Natural Hazards Research Australia Youtube Phdisaster research group is led by dr. stephanie pilkington at the university of north carolina at charlotte. we focus on natural hazards, their impact to communities, and the subsequent recovery process. The geohazardsresearchgroup researches past, current, and potential natural hazards, primarily landslides, using inventory based, statistical, deterministic, probabilistic modeling, and field studies. please visit our “research” page for details on past and current research.
Natural Hazards Research Australia Naturalhazards.org operates as an independent research and public insight platform focused on understanding environmental threats, natural disasters, and long term climate resilience. Natural hazards research promotes communication between the various fields that have an interest in natural disasters and catastrophic events, with the goal of raising awareness and improving detection and response. The natural hazards risk and resiliency research center (nhr3) is a multidisciplinary and multi university research center with the goal of reducing the risk of natural hazards from becoming natural disasters. 2023 2024 postdoctoral researcher, now in the us. 2023 undergrad thesis work with the lab, now phd student at university of alaska, fairbanks, us. 2021 2023 research assistant, now research scientist at the illinois state water survey, university of illinois urbana champaign, us.
