Healthy Longevity Global Competition Launch Event The competition will unfold in parallel with the nam’s global roadmap for healthy longevity, an international commission that will assess available evidence and recommend strategies for global societies to maintain the health and productivity of aging populations. Recognizing the urgency but also the immense opportunity presented by this demographic shift, the u.s. national academy of medicine (nam) launched the healthy longevity global grand challenge—a worldwide movement to improve physical, mental, and social well being for people as they age. In 2026, the national academy of medicine (nam) will mark the culmination of its healthy longevity global competition by issuing a $1.5 million usd grand prize and several smaller awards for projects with the greatest impact—or potential for impact—on healthy longevity in humans. Since 2020, the national academy of medicine’s healthy longevity global competition has supported more than 600 actionable ideas aimed at extending the human health span and improving quality of life.
