Save files are files that contain the .sav file extension. both steam and epic games version use the same path depending on os used. if you cannot find your steam save folder (probably because you have owned the game in epic and just bought the steam copy recently), first start a new game with steam, then save the new game. I built a storage warehouse and while i have outputs i prefer not to use them, instead using the storage as a centralized personal storage where i can refill any items that i am running low on.

My storage system is a long line of container stacks fed by 4 sorting belts, each connected to a different input of the first two containers. but then mine isn't meant for collecting items manually, though i can if i want. it's designed to go through a series of mergers to load my 9 car construction train instead. Rate my storage room? high marks for looks. but, points off for usability. hard to see the upper floor items from the lower floor if you forget where something is. and the worst case path is having to go upstairs and run around a ring. going back and forth between upper and lower, might get tedious. I'm trying to find a guide on how to plan out the main storage room. what and how many items could i plan for the end game? i know that some items are used in the beginning but not used in the end (just in automated production). My current save has spent 23 hours and all i've done is rebuild my iron rod plate screw reinforced iron plate factory 4 times and made a much too large storage room (48 'slots' with a 2x buffer for each). convinced i'll never accomplish anything because optimising is more fun lol.
