My Layout Progress Model Train Forum As the title says, this is my current plan for my n scale layout. this will occupy my bedroom and will be set up along the perimeter of the room in 1 1 2 to 3 foot deep shelves. At the suggestion of some forum members, i’m making this thread to detail my progress making my first real model train layout. this will probably be a very slow project, as i work full time (and only getting busier) and my fiance and i are preparing for our wedding this summer.

I've been so excited about japanese railroading and model trains in general lately (and my bank account certainly reflects it!) but sadly i'm at a complete standstill when it comes to my home layout. I have built my layout with small, lightweight, 'l girder' shaped, members that resist warping by their shape. also all the wood is painted to seal out moisture. In his retirement, my dad resurrected his lionel o scale trains and setup a train table in a room in he and my mom's house. about 3 years ago he had a stroke and he and my mom have moved into assisted living.
