Monday Motivation May Challenge Patchwork Sampler How did you do on april’s challenge to make something with half square triangles? it was a struggle for me, but i managed to finish a quilt top. my original plan was to make some progress on carpenter star blocks. i am not sure what i will do with that quilt so i once again, put that project on hold. instead, i made split nine patch blocks. This week we challenge you to somehow be inspired by some patchwork. where to start? you could patch together a project with scraps, create a quilt block type project, work with squares of the new tim holtz fabric, perhaps be inspired to get into some mosaic work too!.

Monday Motivation May Challenge Patchwork Sampler The splendid sampler block 16 by lindsay mayland from american patchwork and quilting is what i worked on this weekend. i love the simplicity of this block and realized it opened itself up to one of my favorite things fussy cutting!. Your challenge: to complete the blocks every day, and build a stunning 90″ square sampler quilt! the quilt will be repeated every year (with a few minor alterations for dates which have changed, for example, easter). Our last block for march in the super simple sampler quilt series! this week we have made four quilt blocks with the theme "four patch" and incorporating that most basic classic quilting patchwork unit. You may not like using solids or may not even have any solids in your stash. that’s okay, just pick any one thing and challenge yourself to make some progress on it in june.
