Camp bowie is one of four texas army national guard training sites. the cam employs 32 full time federal and state employees and offers mobilization and unit training annually for more than 25,000 men.
Military Training Facilities A military training area, training area (australia, ireland, and the united kingdom) or training centre (canada) is land set aside specifically to enable military forces to train and exercise for combat. We currently offer academic and simulator training for the uh 60 black hawk and ch 47 chinook helicopters, as well as training for the mq1 9 predator reaper remotely piloted aircraft. we provide initial flight training, recurrency training courses, and mission training. Green eye tactical offers professional grade specialist training in marksmanship, close quarters combat fundamentals, combat equipment usage, weapons, and cqb tactics through our range of basic and advanced training courses for civilians, law enforcement, and military personnel. Three sites, known as the “flying triangle”, were established and named hicks field, barron field, and carruthers field. these fields served to train hundreds of american pilots in basic and primary flying skills during world war one. when the war ended in 1919 “the flying triangle” was closed.
