Microstation Report Two Item Types This article describes how to use a microstation connect report to export dgn item type data attached to a dgn element. it's an explanation of the steps taken to define a custom report about two item types, when those item types are both attached to the same dgn element. The properties in item types can be used to label, report, or change the display of the elements or objects. door schedules and signage reports are some of the real world examples where item types can be used.

Microstation Report Two Item Types I am attempting to create a report that will report on multiple objects w different item types attached and get a clean report. each object has common properties such as area, cost per unit, pay item, etc. For faster and more efficient access, the microstation connect edition introduces the ability to import and export item type definitions and instances (data) to excel files. Build it in a file with the feature types you need. In the properties > included items section, select item types row and click the down arrow on the right side. a window opens in which you can the select item types. click the select an item type drop down and select desired item type from the list.

My goal is to report cell names in whole model, together with xyz origin of each cell and item types attached to each cell. as cell origin is not available in expression, i am thinking of generating two separate reports: one with elementid cell origin. second with this.getelement ().elementid and other data stored in item type. It's unfortunate that the report user interface (ui) and microstation help conspire to make it seem as if item types are required to design a report, but they are not needed. I would like to see the report display all objects selected, returned to a single row. doing so would eliminate the need for so many item types being created just to show in a report. Despite of two elements have attached the same item type with the same values, they are different elements and will be reported separately. i do not know whether reports can be configured to report item types primarily, not elements.
