This is indeed an ambitious book that seeks to measure the weight of the different actors from doctors to engineers, from administrators to entrepreneurs who participate in the development of standards of human physiology.
Film Jennifer Berglund Measurements, and their manipulation, have been underestimated as crucial historical forces motivating and guiding the way we think about disability. Measuring difference, numbering normal provides a detailed study of the technological construction of disability by examining how the audiometer and spirometer were used to create numerical. I’m leaving my wonderful job of 11 years at the end of october, after opening the final exhibition i’m working on—measuring difference at the collection of historical scientific instruments. So we were dissecting ant brains and putting the brains under a microscope and measuring different morphologies, or shapes, of the different organs within the brains to see if different areas within the brains could be associated with particular tasks, and whatnot. To her, the stories of science, particularly those from the ocean’s depths, are the adventure stories of our time. finding new and innovative ways to tell them, she believes, plays a critical role in educating and engaging a well informed society in today’s most pressing issues.
