Mead Primary Reception Maths Workshop
Mead Primary Reception Maths Workshop In reception we start with our number bonds to 5 and move on to number bonds to 10. children need to know these to achieve the expected outcome in maths at the end of the year. Thank you to all of those parents who were able to attend our maths workshop this morning. we hope it was useful in providing some practical activities which you can do with your child at home and helped you gain a better understanding of the end of year expectations for reception children.
Mead Primary Maths In Reception To support this, we recently invited parents to take part in a series of engaging and practical workshops designed to strengthen understanding of key areas in early learning – phonics and maths. Explore the composition of numbers to 10. automatically recall number bonds for numbers 0 5 and some to 10. select, rotate and manipulate shapes to develop spatial reasoning skills. compose and decompose shapes so that children recognise a shape can have other shapes within it, just as numbers can. continue, copy and create repeating patterns. We are inviting reception parents to a maths workshop next wednesday (3rd) july from 9am. we will be offering suggestions for how you can help support your child at home and looking ahead to year 1 and how your child can build on the skill set they have gained throughout their early years. We use the manipulatives available to create and solve our own number problems. the past two weeks we have been learning all about doubling and have used cubes, shapes, dominoes and natural resources to help us identify and solve a doubling problem. here is some of our amazing work in action!.
